Week 8

Hello all,

Well the week is basically over. There were 3 lecture topics this week: 1) Public speaking - for giving testimonies, 2) Islam - we learned about the Islam religion...very interesting and very different. 3) The Cross - super good! Our speaker gave a couple testimonies that just moved me and makes me want so much more! Then Last night (Friday night) we did an 'all night' prayer from 10pm to 3am and we prayed for the city of Mount Druitt, Sydney, and Australia, prayed against Halloween and all the witches that are in these areas (and yes, they are here, I talked to one - though I didn't know she was one until I got pulled away by my group).

We had another meeting for outreach!!! Jennelle and I are in charge of food! Which we are super excited about! I also am putting together the intercession list with Shanna but that's really easy. As a school, we sat down and discussed our fees that are still needed....about $38,000. My fees are still $2700 short (having to do with outreach being raised another $500 and the cost of the american dollar dropping). Please pray and keep me and my fellow students and leaders lifted up as it is very easy for us to worry about it all. Especially since the leaders are needing to buy plane tickets this week.

This week we are practicing giving out testimonies in front of the class, should be good but hard for some. Oh! this coming Sunday we are going to the live recording of Hillsong and I'm stoked about that! And finally, on Monday we are going to the Blue Mountains. We didn't go last weekend because my leader Liz is fasting for 40 days and today is her last day so she will be able to come on Monday and not pass out.

I plan to be sending a newsletter out as soon as possible updating you on my outreach plans...details! Horray! :)

Please keep me in your prayers!!! Outreach, outreach fees, lectures, and peers. Much love!

Cheers,
Sarah

News news news

Cheers!

How you all goin'? Hope all is well! So, I have good news and semi-not good news. Which first? ..... not -so- good? Ok...well the good part is that we met in our outreach teams for the first time and discussed what we will be doing...or any ideas that are in the works. The bad news part is that the fee is no longer $4,000 but $4500...so that means I need prayer..still! Please pray that support keeps coming in!

Good news!!! : So today we did what is called "Treasure hunting" and it's basically prophetic evangelism. We broke into small groups and prayed about anyone God wanted us to talk to. My group came up with what seemed like random words : White car, green, little girl, brown hair, young like age 3 or 4, poka-dotted shirt, trapped, man in suit, park. We had no idea what it meant but we headed to the park anyways. When we got there it seemed like no one was there. We looked again and there on the park climber was a little girl with brown hair who is 3 years old in a poka-dotted dress. Her mom started asking us questions about what our Youth Street shirts said/meant and we started talking to her. The mom is muslim and her partner is very strict and she feels like she is trapped and wished she was younger so she could do stuff like YWAM. We chatted for a while, played with the little girl, and then we left bibles in the park after they left! BUT yeah!!!! It was sooooooooooooooooo crazy!

Cheers!

Oh Yeah!

How could I forget this??? My outreach location has changed. .....drum roll please..... I am going to Thailand and South Africa!!!! [and the crowd goes wild] Through lots of prayer and conviction God told me where I was supposed to go ... I knew from the very beginning but didn't listen. In the words of my director.... I was disobedient. Once she said that it felt like someone stabbed me with a knife. I used my own reasons for choosing the other team...finances being the reason and not putting my trust in God. BUT with prayer and discussions with God the wrongs have been made right. I still leave around the 23 of Nov and will be in Thailand for two weeks. The specifics haven't been revealed yet of what we will be doing there but once we know I will let you all know too. Then we will head to Cape Town, South Africa where we will join the other team and do great works in that land. In January...around the 17th-ish we will be back in Australia for lectures with the founder of YWAM, Loren Cunningham and then to Tingah for more outreach.

Cheers!

Feelings toward it: excited, open, and eager. This is the stuff I really want to know.

This week is shaping up to be pretty good, despite having a cold. God is also answering prayers> more support money is coming in and I give a huge THANKS to those who are sending it in.

Prayer Requests: heatlh. patience. understanding with things here on base. clarity.

Thank you,

sarah

Week 6

Well, we are in week 6 of lectures...the topic is biblical world view and the speaker is our base director, Etienne. Tonight was the beginning of the week and if the rest of the week pans out from tonights lecture...there is going to be lots of debates!

Please pray for health: for my roommate Jennelle - she is having severe pains throughout her body. Started in her thigh and has migrated to her knee, ankle, back, hip, and shoulder. For my roommate Eilidh (like Haily but with no 'h') she has cystic fibrosis. And for me: my stomach is acting up and I have been having chest/heart pains.

Please pray also: for my finances. I am still about $1000 short and now with medical bills (because they don't do health care like the states) I have to pay before anything happens.

Thank you for your prayers.

PRAYER Please

Please please pray for me and my fellow students and staff. Last night we were confronted with spiritual warfare and two people had dreams that there was a demon in our room and I could feel his presence in our room while we were up in a meeting. Please pray that the enemy isn't allowed near our building, cars, or any of the staff or students. Also, please pray that I am able to raise/receive all my fees. I am still short $1000.00.

Cheers!

Some photos

The top is from the animal park...that bird was huge! The second one is us at the Opera house spelling YWAM with our shadows. Last is at the skate comp that we held at Rooty Hill for Youth Street, it was a fun but cold day.

Prayer request

Please pray that God answers prayers that I somehow get the rest of my fees. I am short about $1000.00; but that's also with little spending money. I'm struggling leaving everything to God even though he has proved himself to me over and over again. I'm still homesick and we are all getting sick. So please pray for that. Thank you.
