So a little update!
Life is going well here in Cape Town, I had a wonderful birthday...3 cakes....pizza for dinner, gifts from Thailand! candy... yummy stuff! Christmas was good, got up for prayer, got ready, got picked up to go and peel potatos for 1000 children...played with a little less than 1000 kids, tried to teach them songs, fed them...everyone survived so that is good! Today we get the day off so we came to the cafe!!! Horray for internet! Tomorrow we are doing a church service and that should be fun and interesting.... two of our girls are sick and I'm getting over a cold....so I'll let everyone know how it goes. Hahaha. We are possibly climbing Table Mountain - mainly for the Thailand team- and it will be fun! ...Jennelle, Eilidh and I will be taking the Cable car if it is open and working. But yeah, not too much other than that. You are all in my prayers! Please keep praying!

A life
Please pray for us:
We watched on as a young man, around 25 years, died Wednesday at the pool.
The enemy has been attacking. First with me, seeing 4 figures in our room and then last night when on 2 seperate occassions men were pounding on our room windows and then the door to our building yelling "open up"
For our health. We are getting sick.
THANK YOU!!!

Week 4
Hello everyone!
Time is passing as we spend our time here in Parow in Cape Town, SA. The Thailand team made it here safe and sound on Wednesday and I was able to go and pick them up! Horray for seeing sisters!
Ministry has been good, kinda slow this past week but what we did do was really good. We held our first Cottage meeting on Tuesday where all the students planned and orchestrated it all, it all went really well! Thailand team came Wed, Thurs was the feeding program. Feeding and praying for the homeless is tough work. They are all incredibly drunk, although they were better than the week before, but still pretty bad. We prayed for all of them that the strongholds would be broken and they would start looking to the Lord. It's hard because they all have all this self-pitty for themselves and don't think life can be any better. Then on Friday we had the open-air and youth group. Saturday was a nervous day because we did the train ministry. We got on an played the guitar and sang worship songs into the city and then walked around and then found a spot and did more worship and prayer. Then we decided to go treasure hunting (that's where we pray for a person to talk to that needs prayer or encouragement). All went really well. Sunday was church, also good. It was the pre-Christmas service that was being recorded for Channel 1 and will be broadcasted all over the world. And then today we tried going to Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was kept but weren't able to because we didn't have a reservation. Instead some of us went to the aquarium (and some to the beach). It was super fun!
This week we are doing a VBS type program so we will be super busy!
Oh and three of us got head lice from the kids in Thailand...yes even me eventhough I didn't go to Thailand.
Keep sending the prayers. No new prayer requests!

Week 2 of outreach
Halo all!
Well, it's week 2 out outreach...actually we are ending the week so we are almost in week 3..horray!
Time here has been good. We are staying at the church Tabernacle of Praise and everyone has been so wonderful to us. Our days start each morning at 6am for prayer, then breakfast, tidy time, get ready for the day time, personal devotion time, worship and intercession, and then we help around the church, practice skits or songs, or prepare for an event like youth group or open-air. We have been really involved in working with the people who live in Leons Dale (the slums of Cape Town) and have been getting a good result. Everyone is very welcoming and have enjoyed us being there. The children have certainly taken a likeing to us!! When we leave they tell us that they will be dreaming of us and waiting for us to arrive the next day...even when we aren't scheduled to go. We have also been helping with a food drive where we had out food to people living on the streets and for the most part it's been really good. We prayed for one guy who had TB and isn't able to get up and when we were leaving he was sitting up and eating! Praise God!
Prayer requests: Safety: we aren't allowed outside at night. And we live in an area that there is still tention among races and we are certainly...the minority. Please pray that we are safe everywhere we go and while we are at the church. So far there haven't been any problems but it's always good to just have prayer! Health: just that we stay healthy...so far...so good. Also: that God would work through us. At times it seems like we aren't doing anything when we only go out once a day but pray that God will use us to our fullest extent.
Thank you for your continued prayers! I love you all!
Cheers!
